About

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my blog!

sbraun

My name is Stefanie Braun, and I’m a twenty-five year old currently residing on Long Island, New York. In 2012, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh with a minor in Chemistry. I’m currently pursuing my dream to become a Registered Dietitian through the University of Delaware’s Distance Dietetic Internship, while also working part-time as a Dietetic Technician for Northwell Health at Huntington Hospital.

I love to bake and cook a lot and experiment in the kitchen. I try to take unhealthy dishes, and make them into healthier versions. I follow a vegetarian diet which includes a lot of fruits, vegetables, whole-grains, healthy fats, and protein (from beans, legumes, soy protein, and some dairy products). My main passion is oatmeal (I eat it practically every day!) I am a MyOatmeal.com Recipe Ambassador, so you will be seeing a lot of delicious recipes with their products!

In addition to my passion for food and nutrition, I also love to run. I’ve been an avid runner since the age of thirteen, and I ran cross country and track for all four years of college at a competitive level. I’ve won numerous state and regional titles, and was named Female Athlete of the Year in my senior year at my University. I went to eight National Division III Championships including cross country (3x) and indoor and outdoor track & field for the 5k (2x) and 10k (3x), and earned All American status my senior year of Cross Country. Since graduation, I have completed six half-marathons (best time of 1:19:04), and one marathon at the NYC Marathon (2013) where I ran a time of 2:56:24 which qualified me for Boston.
